About

Hi there! My name is Laura Mills, a native Texan who still isn't sure how she ended up in Iowa. I'm a writer, full-time student, and creative dabbler. My first love will always be the written word. Consequently, I'm prone to fits of daydreaming, and I'm rendered helpless in the face of beautifully written sentence. My friends know me as an introvert, podcast enthusiast, beginner mandolinist, and life-long dog lover. I gravitate towards the tangible in a digital age, mostly in the form of handwritten letters.

This is a blog about the highs and lows of being a college student with a weakness for words, boundless curiosity, and a dream of becoming a writer. More importantly, it's about the people I connect with and the things I learn along the way. In the coming years I hope to travel and write as much as I can, chip away at my creative bucket list, and be as open to new experiences and escaping my comfort zone as a shy girl can be. I sincerely hope you’ll come along for the ride!

  1. The 'about' says you ended up in Iowa. Willing to say where? I'm in Coralville. Did you make the quilted table runner behind you by the door? Nice. My wife quilts a lot.

    1. I went to college in Cedar Rapids, so not too far from you. My mom is the quilter in the family :) Thanks for your comment!
